Stadium and Expenses
How should I upgrade my stadium?
A few simple rules:
- Try to build your stadium so that the proportions are 75% terraces, 23% seats and 2% VIP. This how your spectator demographic will be.
- Until you start getting into the top leagues and you rank improves, you wont get much more than attendance of 8,000, so don’t build much bigger than that. Using the above 75/23/2 rule means that you need to have 6,000 Terraces, 1,840 Sitting and 160 VIP. If you are doing well in you league then aim for a stadium of 10,000 and then 12,000.
- Build the first of every facility (except clinic) gives you income during friendly games, so try to build one of each. Although it is probably best to avoid building a hotel as they are other places you can spend your money and get better returns.
- Hotdog stands and souvenir ship are quite cheap and give you plenty of revenue. You are better of buying 18 hotdog stand and 10 souvenir shops than you are building a bunch of hotels.
[fab] Did you know ? You can build 18 Hot dog standsand 10 souvenir shopsfor the same price as buying one hotel. With a league crowd of 8,000, those hot dog stands and souvenirs shops alone will give you around £17,000, a hotel will only give you around £1,800 - almost a tenth of the takings. Now the upkeep will be around £1,600 as against around £110 but over a two week period you will still be £12,000 better off.
You can find fabkin's own Stadium Planner here. This will help you plan your stadium.

I've just started out and just want step by step instructions on stadium upgrades
Build in this order:
1) Build stadium to at least 8,000 (75% standing, 23% sitting, 2% VIP)
2) Build of one every facility except hotel
3) Build 20 hotdog stands - (8,000 stadium will accomodate 20.)
4) Build 10 souvenir shops - (again based on 8,000)
5) Build 1 hotel (assuming you are playing friendly games every day)
6) Build 9 pubs
7) Then more Fastfoods (12) and Restaurants (9) , lastly 3 hotels.
Those are all based on a crowd of 8,000 which you should get. If you ever build all that you will make almost as much in facilities as you do in ticket sales.
* don't order everything at the same time! always get several proposals (it doesn't cost anything to click 'Get proposal') before you order anything to be built
* check when your next home league game is, and build a suitable number of stuff so that it is finished a few days before that game.
How does a stadium looks change ?
A stadium looks different depending on capacity. There are 3 styles of stadium.

It is the due date for my stadium upgrade but it is still not ready
This is because the due date given is the day when the work is complete. Notice that when you build the stadium however, the ready date is different. For instance, when you get a quote, it may say that the work is finished on the 27th, but if you accept it will say that the end date is the 26th. The quote is when when your stadium will be ready, the "Construction in progress date" is a day later.
Can I cancel my stadium upgrade ?
No you cant. You will have to wait until the building is complete and demolish.
What do I get when I demolish facilities ?
You get 1/4 of the equivalent build cost refunded to you. Say you had 4 pubs and you demolished them, you would receive £23k refund.
Why do people keep saying build 75% Standing, 23% Sitting and 2%
The reason why those percentages are quoted is because it represents the demographics of the number people that turn up. So imagine you are top in your division and because the division you are in you can attract 10,000 spectators.
Now the spectator break down will be 7,500 spectators that will stand, 2,300 spectators that want to sit and 200 spectators which are VIPs. Now also imagine that you decided to build a 10,000 stadium with just stands. How many spectators will get ? You will only get 7,500 spectators. If you decided tomorrow to build a further 10,000 stands, you will still only get 7,500 spectators.

I dont understand what is meant by capacity in the table above ?
A hot dog stand has a capacity of 150 people. To get that capacity, you need 404 visitors. This can be demonstrated by:
Imagine you only get 404 visitors coming to your game (could be a friendly !!).
The spectator type would break down using the 75%,23%,2% ratio to:
303 Standing spectators 93 Sitting spectators 8 VIP
Now 40% of standing spectators like going to hot dog stands. So that equates to 40% of 303 = 121
30% of sitting spectators like going to hot dog stands. So that equates to 30% of 93 = 28
10% of VIP spectators like going to hot dogs stands. So that equates to 10% of 8 = 1 (rounded up)
So 121+28+1 = 150 !!!
So this demonstrates that 404 visitors will exactly fill one hotdog stand.
If you have 8,000 spectators but it takes 404 visitors to fill a hotdog stand then 8,000 / 404 = 19.8 (dah lets call it 20)
Remember, these calculations fall over if you don't build your stadium 75%,23%,2% ration.
What is the cost of spectator tickets ?
Standing £8
Sitting £12
VIP £57
What advice can you give me about finance and bankruptcy ?
Here are some key points on finance
- Weekly expenses are taken out on Sat Morning
- The bankruptcy check happens after the your weekly expenses are taken out
- If you go into the red this starts the beginning of bankruptcy proceedings.
- It is irrelevant whether you were in the black during the week on the Sat check counts.
- If you don’t get your self back into black here is what happens:
- 1st week, Nothing
- 2nd week, Email is sent out
- 3rd week, Coaches leave and youth education close down, Email is sent out
- 4th week, Email is sent out
- 5th week, Sacked
- These are consecutive weeks, so if you are in debt the first week, the second week you have money in the bank the bankruptcy proceedings are cleared, and should you go back into dept on the third week, it will count as week one again.
Here are some basic things to remember
- Choose a sponsor – they are worth 7,500 a week
- Make sure your stadium is big enough to sustain your expenses – so don’t get a big youth team and loads of coaches before it is built up. Don’t spend all your money on the “killer” player that commands a huge salary.
- Don’t make your stadium to big however. If you are not drawing the crowds during league games you are wasting money in upkeep.
- Friendly home games give you income. Get as many in a week (up to 5).
- Check to see that your outgoings aren’t too high.
- Remember – you are better selling of players, releasing coaches and youths yourself to get out of financial problems rather than letting the bankruptcy system do it for you. When you do it yourself, at least you will have a choice.
How much in dept do I have to be before I get into the bankruptcy proceedings ?
If it is a negative balance when the bankruptcy balance check is taken then bankruptcy starts. You have no overdraft facilities :)
Which sponsor should I choose?
All sponsors offer the same amount of money. It is a choice of which logo you like best.
[fab] Currently, selecting the sponsor doesn't have any effect you get sponsor income even if you don't choose one.
What is the point of the clinic?
The clinic helps curing injuries. Is does not generate any revenue.
If you have a clinic you have a chance to everyday lower your healdate. So if 2 players from different teams get the same injury for the same time. The one with a clinic will have faster healtime. (muran)
